Futures Market Hours

The futures market, including for ES and MES contracts, operates nearly 24 hours a day, which allows for a high degree of flexibility in trading strategies.
Regular Trading Hours:
The market is open from Sunday to Friday, starting at 6:00 PM EST each Sunday when the market opens for the week. It runs continuously until 5:00 PM EST on Friday, closing for the weekend.
Extended (or”Overnight”) Hours:
The market briefly pauses each day from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST, during which orders can still be entered but won't be executed until the market reopens.
This continuous trading window is particularly beneficial for reacting to global economic events as they unfold, regardless of traditional market hours.
